It is compulsory for a business with a GST turnover of $75,000 or more to get an ABN and register for GST. If the turnover is less than $75,000 you can still apply for an ABN and may choose to register for GST once they have an ABN.

ABN is a unique business identifier of 11-digits that is used by to the public, ATO, ASIC and other statutory agencies.

You are entitled to an ABN if you are carrying on with business activity in Australia.

We can assist you dispute the rejection with ATO for a fee of $150. This has to be done with 60 days of rejection. Please note we cannot refund the application fee as a rejection is outside our control.

If you hold an ABN, legally you must notify the ABR within 28 days of any changes, such as changes to your name, address, and other contact details. If it’s a company, you can make the changes using the link

You can use a previous ABN only if the business activity of the old business is same as that of the new one and is also the same kind of entity (sole trader, company, partnership, or Trust).

Your ABN registration can be delayed if ATO is not able to verify your identity, you have outstanding dues to ATO, there is an existing ABN application open or your earlier ABN application was rejected.
